Mission Statement

Our mission is to promote the importance of a free and independent press and to produce a genuine community newspaper with help from the people of Far North Queensland.

Through our weekly newspaper and website, the Northern Herald will provide an independent perspective with a commitment to local, informative stories that others may miss. We will give voice to issues, events, and people in our community often underrepresented in mainstream media and sustain a reader demographic that is as diverse as the issues we cover.

We will strive to give reasonable advertising rates to allow local businesses a viable means to promote and advertise their products and services so all can grow and prosper.
