Ron Rankine had the monthly medal in his keeping until an out of bounds shot on the last, which meant a tie with Dave Cassells and Dave Hyde, all three finishing on net 67. Dave Cassell was declared winner on countback from Dave Hyde, with Ron an unlucky third. Nearest the pin prizes were shared by several players. we hope our visitors from the Mareeba club [the Wulf's] enjoyed their day. In the match play competition, Anthony Thorne accounted for Peter Robb 4 and 3, and Dave Cassells and Lyn Rankine got value for their green fee dollars by finishing all square after 18 holes, with Dave winning on the first extra hole. Semi finals to be contested over the next few weeks are Dave Cassells V Ron Rankine, and Anthony Thorne V Dave Hyde. As I am sure you all know, the Tigers hosted the Eacham Grand Final. Congratulations to Atherton, they came out in front in all 3 games. In the 12's, the boys played with their heart and soul but were sadly defeated. They were all pretty upset, but they need to be proud that they even made it to the Grand Final - I know we are all proud of them. We had a fantastic day except for our loss and it was a really busy day To say thanks to all the helpers seems inadequate. Without all the volunteers the day would not have happened. It was a double shift for some of our helpers with them having the fete the night before. Thanks also to the businesses who dressed their shops and themselves in support of our Tigers, especially the support from Trace and Mel from the Bendigo Bank - you guys rock!!! We will be having presentation next Saturday, the 10th Sept at 10am. End of the season now for 2011, and the Mighty Tigers will be back bigger and better in 2012. Thanks heaps to the Herald, the Weekly and BP Garnet for printing our Tigers Talk for us. ________________________________________ RAVENSHOE/MT.
